Dawson Brown is a multi-faceted player, that works diligently to develop and maintain a variety of basketball skills. Born in Spain and living in PA (USA), Dawson is a lock-down defender, with solid ball-handling, crafty dribble drives to finish, and refined shooting technique that help him excel in both catch-to-shoot and off the dribble situations. With the ball in hand, his high basketball IQ allows him to read and overcome press defenses.
Son of former Gatorade State Player of Year, Villanova 1,000 point scorer, and 13-year overseas pro, Howard Brown, Dawson’s superior speed, athleticism, and ability to read and react allow him to flourish in an uptempo transition game. A continuous motion offense and smothering full court or half court defense keep Dawson locked in, but he can also excel in a controlled, half court sets when given freedom to find the best shot for himself and his teammates.
As a rising Sophomore, he led the PMT Warriors AAU to a #10 National Ranking in the New Balance NXT Pro Circuit going into the national championships and Philly Live II Honorable Mention after averaging 18pts and 7 assists over the session. His AAU season high is 21 points, 6 assists, 3 steals, 3 three-pointers to end 3-1 weekend at TBK Bank Sports Complex in Bettendorf, Iowa on April 14-16 2023. Dawson started every game as a Freshman on his High School Varsity Phoenixville Phantoms PA 5A basketball team and has recently earned an opportunity to compete on the National AAU Circuit with NXT-Pro New Balance and the PMT Warriors this spring and summer. In addition, workouts are planned this spring and summer in Mexico and his native country Spain.
