What Organizationn is Producing the Event?
iBall United will produce the Classic. Howard Brown directed the Skoolz Classic from 2000 until his retirement from pro ball overseas in 2013. The event not only featured all-star games for pros, high school, and middle school youth, but there were performances, kids activities, and many other aspects that comprised the Classic.
In 2013, he founded iBall United, a sports marketing and consulting company that focused on supporting US-based basketball players to find pro opportunities mostly at the International level. The iBall Pro Combine featured games, athletic tests, and skills assessments for players from across the country. Pro personnel (GMs, coaches, and agents) from the US and oversees would travel to Pottstown, New Jersey, and Maryland to evaluate talent. Covid ceased iBall’s agency operations.
In addition to serving aspiring pro basketball players and coaches, iBall has a history of community service in Pottstown, hosting free youth combines, trainings, and community events such as the Pottstown Sports Carnival. iBall United now returns to produce the Skoolz Classic and we are excited to have many participants and volunteers from past events contributing in a myriad of ways.

What is the Fundraiser?
The Skoolz Classic is the flagship fundraiser for the Howard Brown Scholarship Fund (“HBSF”). The first Skoolz Classic took place in 2000 as Brown concluded a career at Villanova where he scored 1122 points as a 2-year team captain and transitioned to pro basketball overseas. Since 2002, HBSF has awarded funding to 20 Pottstown Senior High School seniors. Recipients have primarily been first generation college-bound student-athletes that have been accepted to an institution of higher learning. Recognized by guidance counselors at Pottstown Senior High School, awards are announced at the senior awards ceremony each year. An additional monetary gift is provided each year the recipient attends college for up to five years. All Skoolz Classic proceeds go to the Foundation for Pottstown Education, a 501(C)3 nonprofit, who is the fiscal sponsor and administrator of the Howard Brown Scholarship Fund.
